Mary Smith joins DWF as insurance partner

Legal and business-services group DWF has appointed Mary Smith, the current president of the Insurance Institute of Dublin, as a new insurance partner in Ireland.

Smith has more than 15 years’ experience in insurance and construction law and also brings significant expertise in professional-indemnity claims across Ireland and Britain.

A highly experienced litigation solicitor, she is dual-qualified in Ireland, and in England and Wales.

Expansion

Smith is a Certified Insurance Practitioner and currently acts as a panel-defence solicitor for several insurer-led professional-indemnity schemes.

She is the first lawyer to serve as president of the Insurance Institute of Dublin.

James Colville (managing partner, DWF Dublin) that her arrival had come at an important time for the firm’s Dublin team as it expanded into a new office.

“Her experience, reputation and network in the insurance and construction sectors will further enhance our local and cross-border offering,” he added.
