The Law Society will host a two-day legal-education event for trainee solicitors in Blackhall Place this week (9-10 January).
Now in its third year, the Future of Legal Practice Summit is provided as part of the ‘Law as Business – Managing a Legal Practice’ course on the Professional Practice Course (PPC).
It brings together extensive current and future-focused legal knowledge, innovation, and technology trends for trainee solicitors in a creative and interactive space.
The impact of technology on legal services is one of the main topics for the first day’s sessions, while there will also be discussions on pro bono work, environmental and energy law, e-conveyancing, and trauma-informed lawyering.
Courts Service chief executive Angela Denning is among the speakers for Friday’s programme, which will also include discussions on AI and data protection.
Other sessions will consider the future of rural law firms and smaller practices, and the increasing importance of the in-house sector.
For the first time, solicitors can now register to take part in two sessions at the event:
