The impact of auto-enrolment legislation

The Law Society is to host a free online information session on the new pensions auto-enrolment system later this month.

The event is aimed at helping solicitors with questions about the impact of the legislation, which brings a new retirement-savings scheme into effect from 30 September.

The legislation will mean that employees who do not have a personal or workplace pension scheme, are aged between 23 and 60, and earn more than €20,000, will be automatically enrolled into the new pension system.

Questions

On Wednesday 26 February, Davin Spollen (chief executive, Glennon Employee Benefits and President of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management) will discuss the key issues.

The session will start at 1pm and registration is now open.

Solicitors can also submit questions to the speaker in advance, by contacting solicitorservices@lawsociety.ie.
