Diploma Centre hosts immigration-law experts
The Law Society’s Diploma Centre last week hosted an Immigration Law Alumni Spotlight Event, which took the form of a panel discussion followed by a question-and-answer session.
The event (6 February) was organised as a networking opportunity for current and past students on the Certificate in Immigration Law and Practice, as well as an occasion for leading experts to examine some of the key immigration-law updates in Ireland.
The panel was chaired by Dr Thamil Venthan Ananthavinayagan (Assistant Principal at the Department of Justice).
The speakers were:
- Hilkka Becker (chair, International Protection Appeals Tribunal),
- Maria Hennessy (Assistant Protection Officer, UNHCR), and
- Ángel Bello Cortés (partner, Fragomen).
The 2025 Certificate in Immigration Law and Practice will start in November.
