The new Cabinet includes four lawyers, while there is one solicitor among the 23 ministers of state appointed by the Government last month.
The Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan is a Senior Counsel.
James Browne (Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage), who was junior minister in justice in the last government, is also a qualified barrister.
Jennifer Carroll McNeill (Minister for Health) is a qualified solicitor and barrister.
The other barrister in the Cabinet is James Lawless (Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science).
Thomas Byrne (Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach and the Department of Foreign Affairs) is a qualified solicitor, who practised at Feran & Co Solicitors in Drogheda before being elected to the Dáil.
Rossa Fanning SC continues in his role as Attorney General.
