Byrne Wallace Shields LLP has announced that Kevin Harnett has joined the firm as a partner in its construction-law practice.
Harnett has 20 years’ experience advising on all aspects of construction law, acting for public bodies, developers, main contractors, funders, owners, tenants, insolvency practitioners, specialist sub-contractors, sureties, and materials suppliers.
He advises domestic and international clients in high-value and complex construction cases in alternative-dispute-resolution (ADR) processes, as well as before the superior courts.
Harnett previously headed the construction practice at Hayes Solicitors LLP, and previously practised with an international law firm.
Managing partner Feargal Brennan said that the construction sector had experienced significant growth.
“Kevin’s wealth of experience and track record will further strengthen our range of services and expertise,” he stated.
Byrne Wallace Shields’ head of infrastructure, construction, and energy Martin Cooney added that the recent introduction of the new RIAI 2025 Construction Contracts would have a significant impact on the construction industry, and organisations would need experienced lawyers to help them navigate the key changes.
