Energy lawyer Keith Newman has returned to business-law firm Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC) as a partner in its energy team.
Newman returns to the firm, where he began his legal career, after three years as lead in-house counsel at a global technology company, where he focused on construction and energy issues.
Newman supports clients throughout the full life-cycle of energy projects, from early development and grid connection to regulation, construction, and market access.
His work focuses on technologies that include wind, solar, storage, and hybrid systems.
Newman also advises data-centre developers on all legal aspects of project delivery.
Rory Kirrane SC (partner and head of construction, infrastructure, and utilities at MHC) said that the firm’s new partner was “widely respected” for his commercial approach and deep sectoral knowledge.
Eoin Cassidy (MHC partner and energy lead) said that Newman’s track record in delivering complex energy projects, both in Ireland and abroad, would further enhance MHC’s capabilities in this area.
