Cork course on planning for retirement
Law Society Skillnet has organised a one-day course in Cork on retirement planning for legal practitioners.
The course will take place at the Kingsley Hotel, Cork, on Thursday 4 September (10am to 4pm).
The in-person event is worth a total of five CPD hours – one for client care and professional standards, one general, and three professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

- A brief overview of retirement and its significance in one's life,
- Why retirement planning is crucial,
- Different retirement options,
- Movement, mobility, and independence for the future,
- Prepare your mind for retirement,
- Regulation: what to do when you close your firm, and
- Tax and retirement.
The speakers include:
- Mike O’Reilly (principal, O’Reilly Business Solutions),
- Maggie Mulpeter (retired solicitor, relationship and parent mentor, public speaker, and group facilitator),
- Sarah Keogh (founder, Eatwell),
- Liam Barrett (solicitor, Law Society regulation department), and
- Michael O’Scathaill (director, taxation, Crowe).
