The Chief State Solicitor’s Office (CSSO) is now seeking applications for the position of State solicitor.
The CSSO is one of Ireland’s largest legal practices, employing over 180 solicitors.
The office describes the fixed-term position as “a diverse legal role” for candidates with “a sound knowledge” of general law and practice.
It adds that candidates must be able to demonstrate their legal knowledge and expertise, and their experience in terms of team working, client relations, planning and prioritising work, and project-management aptitude.
The duties will vary, depending on the section to which an officer is assigned.
State solicitors may be called on from time to time to assist in priority areas – including the CSSO’s response to emerging issues that arise, such as extradition requests, European co-operation requests, judicial-review litigation, immigration and asylum litigation, or urgent transactional work.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 8 May (3pm).
More details are available in an information booklet.
