Law Society prelude event at Disputes Week

This year’s Dublin International Disputes Week 2024 (#DIDW2024) will take place from 30 September  to 3 October. Registration is now open for the main conference programme that takes place at Dublin Castle.  

On 30 September, at 11.30am the Law Society Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee will host a prelude event at Blackhall Place, Dublin 7.

This seminar: 'The Future of Dispute Resolution' will feature a distinguished panel of domestic and international experts and include a recorded address from Professor Richard Susskind.

The panellists will consider:

  • The transformative nature of AI in dispute resolution,
  • Further advancements and adaptations of legal tech, and
  • Domestic and international perspectives on future trends in litigation, arbitration and mediation,
  • Domestic and international perspectives on mediation and arbitration.

There is no charge for the Blackhall Place event. However, advance registration is essential.

  • Susan Ahern SC (arbitrator in sports disputes internationally and domestically),
  • Stephen Dowling SC (TrialView chief executive),
  • Mr Justice Liam Kennedy (judge of the Irish High Court),
  • Bridget Mary McCormack (president and chief executive of the American Arbitration Association),
  • Minesh Tanna (disputes and investigations partner and global AI Lead, Simmons & Simmons LLP London),
  • Brian McMullin (principal at Brian J McMullin Solicitors).

The moderator is Kevin Hartnett, a partner at Hayes Solicitors LLP.

Dublin International Dispute Week

Dublin International Disputes Week is a forum for international practitioners and general counsel, providing access to thought leaders and prominent international practitioners specialising in litigating complex, cross-border disputes.

Part of the Irish Government’s Ireland for Law initiative, the event will feature a range of physical and virtual events, including a two-day conference, round tables, seminars and social events showcasing local Irish expertise in collaboration with a range of international panellists.
