Over half of those surveyed at a Matheson conference last week agreed that AI would be 'very useful' or 'critical' for their business, while 44% confirmed they had an AI taskforce with a budget to look at the use of AI in their business.
A further 19% had completed their initial assessments of the impact of AI.
The majority (86%) indicated that cyber-security was a priority.
The data came from the Matheson annual conference at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, which was entitled ‘Regulating Tech, AI and Cybersecurity: A 360 Perspective’ (7 November).
The pace of change presented huge opportunities, but also significant challenges, across legal, regulatory, commercial and ethical dimensions, the conference heard.
Pierre Bichet from the European Commission was joined by Calum Warren of Matheson, and they shared findings from the initial six-month of the EU Digital Markets Act.
