Law Society update for Leitrim solicitors

Law Society Skilllnet is holding its annual update for Leitrim practitioners on Thursday 25 May at the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim (10am to 5.30pm).

The event is being organised in partnership with Leitrim Bar Association, Longford Bar Association, Roscommon Bar Association, and Sligo Solicitors’ Bar Association.

The training and education event provides an opportunity for practitioners to update their knowledge in areas of law relevant to general practice.

The aim is to offer practitioners a practical update in relevant areas from experienced practitioners and expert speakers. There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues.

Attendance is worth six CPD hours by group study.

Topics and speakers

Topics to be covered include:

  • Enduring powers of attorney: a practical guide,
  • Solicitors’ accounts: the new rules,
  • A guide to expert witnesses,
  • A guide to Law Society services and how they can assist practitioners,
  • Managing client expectations: what is good practice?
  • Probate,
  • Tax and conveyancing.
