The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) has opened this year’s round of a grant scheme for organisations and groups working on issues of human rights and equality.
IHREC says that the focus of this year’s scheme will be supporting projects that contribute to advancing economic equality, promote climate justice, environmental justice, and a just transition, and promote awareness of rights and access to justice.
Funding is available for small projects up to €6,000 and for general projects up to €20,000. A total of €350,000 is available.
Grants are open to civil-society organisations, rights-holder and community-led groups, and trade unions from across the country.
Groups must bring forward proposals on empowering people to understand and claim their rights, and to develop evidence-based research and analysis to inform legislation, policy, and practice.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 3pm on Thursday 18 April.
