Annual update for solicitors in Clare, Limerick

Law Society Skillnet is holding its annual update for practitioners in the mid-west region on Thursday 20 June.

The event takes place at The Inn at Dromoland, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare (10am to 5.30pm).

Six CPD hours are available from attendance (2.5 general, 2.5 professional development and solicitor wellbeing, and one client care and professional standards).

The aim is to provide an opportunity for practitioners to update their knowledge in areas of law relevant to general practice. There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues over lunch and a drinks reception.

Topics and speakers

Issues to be discussed include:

  • Legal Services Regulatory Authority’s complaints process,
  • Succession planning,
  • Cyber-security,
  • Solicitor services,
  • Assisted decision-making legislation,
  • Litigation,
  • Conveyancing,

There will also be a panel discussion covering practice areas of growth, opportunities for younger members, and In-house options for solicitors.

Mairead Doyle (President, Clare Law Association and solicitor, Carmody & Co Solicitors) and Julianne Kiely (President, Limerick Solicitors' Bar Association and partner, Kiely McCarthy Solicitors) will chair.
