Rabbitte to chair Tusla for two more years

Pat Rabbitte is to stay on as chair of Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, for another two years.

Roderic O’Gorman (Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth) has re-appointed the former TD and minister for a second term.

He said, however, that, by agreement, the term would finish after two years, on 30 December 2025, to allow for “continuity of key personnel in Tusla’s governance structure”.

'Turbulent events'

Rabbitte’s first term as chair of the agency ran for five years, and expired on 31 December 2023.

Minister O’Gorman said: “Pat has helped steer Tusla through significant recent turbulent events, like the COVID-19 pandemic and welcoming children from Ukraine who need the protection of this State.”
