Matheson LLP has appointed Olivia Long as head of tax policy in its tax department.
Long rejoins the firm from the OECD in Paris, where she spent several years working with the Tax Treaty Unit.
As well as her work on tax treaties, during her time at the OECD, she was heavily involved in the development of the ‘Two Pillar Solution’, the OECD's flagship project on the international tax system.
Shane Hogan (head of tax, Matheson) described Long’s experience, which included negotiating with government officials from around the world to agree the new international tax framework, as “unique in the Irish market”.
More than 50 lawyers work in Matheson’s tax practice.
