Annual education event to focus on AI

The Law Society is inviting all members of its education associate faculty to a networking and learning event on Monday 2 September.

The event will kick off at 1.45pm in the main lecture theatre and conclude at 4.30pm.

The focus will be artificial intelligence (AI) in education and the workplace (touching on inter-generational learning).

Expert speakers

Three expert speakers have been lined up, and the afternoon will conclude with a question-and-answer session and a panel discussion.

The speakers are:

  • David Kerrigan, an author and speaker who specialises in the impact of new technologies on society,
  • Barry Scannell (partner, William Fry), a specialist in AI, copyright, IP, technology law and data protection, and
  • Dr Marian Crowley-Henry  (Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, Maynooth University School of Business).

The event will kick off a busy week for the Law School, with the start of the 2024 Professional Practice Course (PPC) on Tuesday (3 September), the Well Within the Law festival on Wednesday, and the launch of the Diploma in Law on Friday.

All associate faculty members are invited to attend – including tutors, lecturers, examiners, or others who positively contribute to the delivery of the school’s PPCs, advanced electives, Diploma Centre, and Law Society Professional Training courses.

Those interested in attending are asked to complete the form.
