In-house committee’s event to focus on AI

The Law Society’s In-house and Public Sector Committee and Law Society Professional Training are to hold their annual panel discussion next month.

The event will take place in Blackhall Place on Wednesday 1 May (2pm-4.30pm).

This year’s theme is ‘Innovating and leading in transformative times’, with a focus on AI and the practical implications and usage for in-house solicitors and the organisations and businesses they serve across the public and private sectors.

The discussion will also cover the topic of the in-house solicitor’s skillset being transferable to other non-legal roles.

Chair and panellists

The event is worth 2.5 CPD hours (by group study) – one general CPD hour and 1.5 hours for professional development and solicitor wellbeing.

Solicitor Alison Bradshaw (head of credit legal services, AIB) will chair the discussion.

The panellists are:

  • Tom Heerey (assistant general counsel, Microsoft),
  • Davinia Conlan (country head, Citi Ireland),
  • Niamh Hodnett (Online Safety Commissioner, Coimisiún na Meán),
  • Amy Ball (business-transformation leader, PWC), and
  • John O’Donovan (deputy director ICT, National Treasury Management Agency).
