DLN event to focus on visual impairment
DisAbility Legal Network (DLN) is to host an event focusing on visual impairments in employment and the legal sector.
The Zoom webinar, hosted in collaboration with Eversheds Sutherland, will take place on Thursday 25 April (2-3pm).
The event will hear from two employment-integration officers in Vision Ireland, Martina Melvan and Shane Merritt, who will discuss topics that will include vision impairments in the workplace, workplace integration, assistive technology, and reasonable accommodations.
Support
Two panellists will then discuss how they navigated their careers with a visual impairment, and how colleagues could be allies and provide support in such cases.
The panellists are:
- Ryan Kelly (senior legal counsel, Bauer Media Group, and a member of the disabled solicitors' network advisory committee in the UK), and
- Sharon Grennan (lawyer, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and secretary of the Society of Visually Impaired Lawyers).
