Legal scholar to speak on law and the emotions

Trinity College Law Review will host a talk on 20 October with speaker Dr John Stannard on law and emotion, which will be of interest to the legal and philosophical communities in Ireland.

The venue is Regent House in Trinity College Dublin and the time is 6pm.

Dr John Stannard is an Oxford graduate and has spent most of his working life on the staff of the Queen's University of Belfast. 

Fellow

He is a member of the Society of Legal Scholars, a Fellow of the Institute of Teaching and Learning, and a Past President and Lifetime Honorary Member of the Irish Association of Law Teachers.

His research interest is in law and the emotions, but he has also published extensively in other areas.

In 2022, he was given a Lifetime Achievement award by Queen’s, and was awarded the OBE in 2023 for Services to Legal Education.
