Voting in the Law Society Council elections has entered its final week, with members able to vote until 5pm on Thursday 2 November.
For the first time in the organisation’s history, the election is taking place online.
Voting is taking place through the Law Society’s website, so members need to know their solicitor number and password before voting.
Solicitors must hold current membership of the Law Society to vote.
Law Society members are encouraged to log in and read the canvassing platforms of each of the candidates.
Then members may securely vote in the national and/or provincial election.
The total votes submitted will be tallied immediately thereafter, and an electronic report will be available for the scrutineers to review and certify.
Details of individual votes will remain confidential.
A total of 22 candidates have been nominated for 16 places in the general Law Society Council election and there are two candidates in the provincial election for Munster.
Each vote in the Council Election allows members to influence the direction and governance of the Law Society over the next 12 months.
The election results will be announced on 9 November.
