William Fry partner Myra Garrett is to join the board of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) later this year.
Garrett (pictured), a former managing partner of the law firm, will serve a five-year term that begins on 22 December this year.
The NTMA is the State body that manages the national debt, as well as a range of other State assets and liabilities.
Garrett specialises in corporate law – including mergers and acquisitions, capital-market transactions and corporate governance.
A law graduate from UCD, she currently serves on the management board of the International Bar Association. She has previously served as a director of the Road Safety Authority, the UCD Foundation and the Institute of Directors.
Minister for Finance Michael McGrath has also appointed Fiona Ross, an experienced chair and non-executive director of organisations in the public and private sectors, to the NTMA board for a five-year term.
The appointments follow a public competition held by the Public Appointments Service.
