Update on developments in business law
Law Society Professional Training is holding its annual conference on business law in Blackhall Place later this month.
The in-person event, being held in collaboration with the Law Society’s Business Law Committee, takes place on Wednesday 15 November (2pm-5.30pm).
The conference will involve three interactive panel of experts who will aim to provide a practical overview of recent practice, legislative and case-law developments.
The event is worth 2.5 general CPD hours and one regulatory hour (by group study).
Topics and speakers
Panel discussions will focus on:
- Anti-money laundering: recent developments and professional insights in relation to certifying beneficial ownership,
- Competition: an update on new Irish competition-law legislation and on new rules requiring pre-clearance of certain transactions involving non-EU buyers,
- Case study – ‘Anatomy of a Deal’: some key things to think about when buying or selling a private company.
Máire Cunningham (chair, Business Law Committee) will chair the conference. A partner in the corporate and commercial team in Beauchamps LLP, she acts for both investors and investees across all sectors, and has extensive experience in all areas of corporate law.
