Legal Aid Board setting up mediation panel

The Legal Aid Board is setting up a panel of private practitioners to provide mediation services to its clients.

The Private Practitioner Mediator Panel is being established, for a one-year period, from 27 January 2023.

Those interested must complete the application form, available on the board’s website, and return it to fmsops@legalaidboard.ie.

Criteria for assignment

Clients referred under the terms of the panel will include family mediation for:

  • Divorce,
  • Separation,
  • Dissolution of civil partnership,
  • Maintenance,
  • Custody, access, and guardianship,
  • Parenting.

The board says that it will assign cases having regard to its internally established criteria.

“These include the geographical location of applicants, length of waiting times, and the number on waiting lists,” it adds.
