Law School organises session on pro-bono work

The Law School has organised a free lunchtime legal education session to introduce trainee and newly-qualified solicitors to pro-bono work.

The session will take place from 1-1.30pm on Tuesday, 21 February.

It is a hybrid event, and attendees must register in advance.

The in-person session will be held in the main lecture theatre in the Education Centre, and the virtual session will be held in the Zoom lecture theatre.

A link will be sent to the email address provided in the registration form.

Criteria

The session is expected to help inform trainee and newly-qualified solicitors to consider pro bono and, ultimately, to help cultivate and expand iti n Ireland.

The session will:

  • Discuss ways to get involved in pro bono,
  • Discuss the criteria for pro bono, and the types of matters that meet them,
  • Discuss how to source pro bono work,
  • Introduce PILA, PILAs Alliance, and the Pro Bono Pledge.
