Kildare CC changes ‘taken-in-charge’ policy

Kildare County Council has said that it is now accepting requests for ‘taken-in-charge’ letters for roads and services through its website.

It says that any requests already submitted by post will be processed as usual, but warns that, from Monday 5 February 2024, written requests will no longer be accepted.

‘Taking in charge’ is a formal legal process by which responsibility for certain public areas, structures and services in a private residential development or estate are transferred to, or put in the charge of, a local authority.

People with any queries about this change are being asked to phone 045 980 421 or email roadsandservices@kildarecoco.ie.
