International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has said that its Irish business is “tracking ahead of plan”, as it reported results for the financial year to the end of April 2023.
Total profit for the financial year was up 18% to Stg £184 million.
Overall, revenue at the firm grew by 18% to Stg £443 million, with the Middle East the firm’s fastest-growing region.
Outside Britain and the Middle East – a category that includes the firm’s Irish operations – revenue rose by more than 20%.
Addleshaw Goddard expanded into Ireland last year after a merger with Dublin-based law firm Eugene F Collins LLP.
At the time, the firms said that they had plans to “more than double” the size of the business in Ireland over the next three to five years.
The firm’s global headcount at the end of the year was 2,358 – an increase of 10%. During the year, Addleshaw Goddard appointed 52 partners – 32 laterally hired and 20 internally promoted.
John Joyce (managing partner, pictured) described the results as "outstanding", and highlighted the firm's expanding global presence. It plans to open an office in the Saudi capital Riyadh – ts fourth in the Middle East – shortly.
