Thirty Blackhall trainees tee off at Carton House

Almost 30 members of the Blackhall Place Law School PPC 2 Golf Society tee-ed off at Co Kildare’s Carton House for an enjoyable outing (13 May) making up for time lost due to the pandemic.

The opening group took to the Colin Montgomerie-designed par 73 inland links course at 9 am.

With challenging conditions of a strong prevailing wind on the exposed course, some drives hit the water at the nearby River Rye.

Undeterred, the golfers responded to the changing weather with creativity in every shot, navigating the 130-bunker course with aplomb, despite strong winds and intermittent sunshine.

Tiger's footsteps

Although shooting low scores proved to be a tough task, many took solace in the fact that Tiger Woods also shot a double bogey while playing the first hole – a feat matched by some of the Law School golfers.

In all, organisers report that a great day was had by all.

The PPC 2 Golf Society would like to thank both the Law Society for their support in facilitating the outing and Carton House for accommodating the players.
