Solicitors Liddy and Fay appointed to District Court

Solicitors Ciaran Liddy and Susan Fay have been nominated for appointment to the District Court.

Barrister Elva Duffy has also been appointed as an ordinary judge of the Circuit Court.

Duffy was educated at Trinity College Dublin (1992) and holds a Barrister-at-Law degree from the King’s Inns (1997).

That vacancy arose following the retirement of Mr Justice Patrick Meghan on 2 October.

Vacancies

The first District Court vacancy arose following the sudden passing of Judge Seamus Hughes on 12 July. The second vacancy followed the retirement of Judge Victor Blake on 29 July.

Liddy was educated at National University of Ireland Galway (LLB, 1998) and holds a Certificate in Criminal Litigation from the Law Society.

Fay holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from University College Dublin (2003), and also holds a Diploma in Family Law from the Law Society (2020).
