Neurodiversity ‘a valuable source of talent’

An event on neurodiversity in the legal sector has been told that a culture of inclusivity that supports neurodiverse individuals can provide a valuable source of highly skilled talent.

The hybrid event – ‘Legal Minds - Neurodiversity in the Legal Sector’ – was organised by the DisAbility Legal Network, and hosted by Matheson.

It heard from a number of speakers from domestic and international organisations.

Challenges

It focused on neurodiversity, or the variation among human brains and human minds, and the strengths neurodivergent people bring to the workplace, while also recognising the challenges still facing many neurodivergent people in the legal sector.

The event heard that recognising and supporting this diversity within the legal profession was vital to creating an inclusive environment in which neurodiverse individuals – and their unique skills and talents – could thrive.
