Solicitor Judith Fitzgerald has been appointed to the board of the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment said that her appointment meant that the WRC board was now complete, in terms of its statutory capacity.
One place on the board had remained to be filled, after the appointment of a number of members by Damien English (Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment) earlier this month.
Appointments to the board of the WRC are statutory appointments under section 10 of the Workplace Relations Act 2015.
Judith Fitzgerald is qualified as a solicitor in Ireland, England, and Wales, and has extensive experience in private practice. She currently works as legal counsel for a multi-national company.
Her areas of legal expertise include commercial and intellectual-property law, conveyancing, and civil litigation, with a special interest in employment law.
