Dublin County Registrar update on civil motions

The Dublin Circuit Court has announced several changes designed to reduce the current waiting times for hearing dates for civil motions before the Dublin County Registrar.

Waiting times have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

In an update, the court said that the following would apply:

  • All matters with hearing dates for 4 and 11 October 2022 will now be heard on 4 April 2022,
  • All matters with hearing dates for 18 and 25 October will now be heard on 5 April,
  • All matters with hearing dates for 1 November will now be heard on 7 April,
  • All matters with hearing dates for 8 and 15 November will now be heard on 26 April.

Each of the above lists will be limited to 100 motions only.

Legal diaries

Future lists will be reviewed later, and further notices will be posted. Practitioners are urged to regularly check these notices and the legal diaries, as no other notification will be issued.

The court says that the legal diaries for the above dates will be issued in due course.

“If your case does not appear in a legal diary that you believe it should be included on, please email dublinciviloffice@courts.ie and have the subject line as ‘Urgent – County Registrar Motions’,” the court adds.
