Chief Justice O'Donnell to speak on Casement trial

This year’s Hardiman lecture series will hear from Chief Justice Donal O’Donnell on the trial of Roger Casement, at 4.20pm this Thursday (30 June).

The talk will be chaired by Mr Justice Gerard Hogan of the Supreme Court.

The venue is the King’s Inns, Dublin 7.

The talk may be viewed here.

This is the fifth lecture in this year’s series, which honours the memory of the late Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman.

Seven lectures

2022 also sees the welcome return of an in-person extended series of seven lectures.

In a reschedule to the original programme, on Tuesday 5 July, Ms Justice Úna Ní Raifeartaigh will speak on redressing wrongful convictions.

The title of that talk is: ‘The Problem of Newly-discovered Facts Post-Conviction and Miscarriages of Justice’.

The talk will be chaired by Mr Justice John McMenamin.
