Bird & Bird names partners ahead of Dublin opening

International law firm Bird & Bird has appointed the first two partners at its new office in Dublin.

The new partners, Deirdre Kilroy (small picture, left) and Anna Morgan (small picture, right), are both specialists in data protection, intellectual property (IP), and technology.

The Bird & Bird office will be based in George’s Dock, and will officially open on 13 June.

‘Next step’

The firm says that the appointments will expand the firm’s offering in the areas of data protection, IP, and technology and communications.

Kilroy joins Bird & Bird from Matheson, where she was a partner in the technology-and-innovation team.

Morgan joins from the Data Protection Commission (DPC), where she was a deputy commissioner and head of legal affairs for five years. Before that, she had worked in private practice for ten years.

Bird & Bird has described its Dublin move as “a natural next step”, as the city plays host to the European headquarters or significant operations of some of the world’s largest technology and life-sciences companies.
