A&L Goodbody takes Chambers Europe prize

The international legal publication Chambers Europe has named A&L Goodbody (ALG) as its Irish Law Firm of the Year.

The award was announced at a ceremony in the Spanish capital Madrid recently.

Chambers Europe said that ALG boasted the highest number of band-one practices and lawyers in the Irish market, and furnished its clients with “premier expertise” in a range of areas.

Hosted annually, the Chambers Europe Awards honour national and international law firms across the continent.

'Resilience'

ALG had previously won the award in 2016 and 2018.

Julian Yarr (ALG managing partner) said: "What makes this award so special is that it reflects the outstanding work we've done for our clients on some of Ireland's most important and complex mandates.”

He added that the firm had shown “resilience and adaptability” over what he described as an “unprecedented” 18 months that included the challenges of the pandemic, combined with a buoyant market.

Another Irish firm, Dechert LLP, was highly commended in the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ category, where the award went to Turkey’s Esin Attorney Partnership, for its commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the country.
