Two new High Court judges named
The Government has approved the nomination of two judges to the High Court.
The two new judges are Judge Karen O'Connor of the Circuit Court, and Conor Dignam SC (small picture).
They will be formally appointed by the President.
In July, the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2021 gave effect to a Government commitment to appoint an additional five judges to the High Court, to deal with anticipated pressure on the courts as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.
