Litigation committee chair wins client service award

Lisa Carty, a partner in William Fry LLP’s litigation and dispute resolution department, has been named for the second consecutive year as the Client Choice winner for Litigation – Ireland for 2021.

The Irish award in the Llitigation category, chosen by Client Choice’s team of researchers and through nominations by corporate counsel, has been given for Lisa's ability to add real value to her clients’ businesses.

Carty acts in a wide range of commercial cases with expertise in financial services disputes, professional negligence actions and judicial reviews against public bodies.

She advises on high-profile cases before the Irish courts and on complex regulatory investigations and regulatory enforcement actions.

Tutor

Lisa regularly lectures and tutors on commercial litigation and is the chair of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society.

Established in 2005, Lexology Client Choice recognises law firms and partners around the world that stand apart for excellent client care  and service quality.

Unlike other awards, a lawyer can only be nominated for a Client Choice award by a corporate or ‘in-house’ counsel.

The award criteria focus on a nominee’s ability to give excellent advice beyond the other players in the market.

This year's winners were chosen from over 2,000 nominees.

Meanwhile, McCann FitzGerald, also had two winners — real estate partner Jennifer Halpin and Seán Barton, consultant in the disputes and investigations group.

Managing partner Barry Devereux (small picture) said: “We are very proud of Jennifer for this outstanding achievement, which evidences the firm’s continuous commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients in the real estate sector.

Prestigious award

“This is the second time that Jennifer has won this prestigious award and it underscores her well-deserved reputation in the market.”

Seán Barton was named exclusive winner for Ireland in the investigations category.

Barry added: “Our investigations practice group comprises a mix of sectoral and industry expertise and experience in forensic investigative techniques, white collar crime and public law enforcement work.

“This is the second year in a row that Seán has been recognised for his outstanding work and unstinting dedication to our clients in this area, which underscores the high calibre expertise he and colleagues in this area bring to this demanding and growing area of focus for the firm.”
