Online portal opens for jab cert status check

A digital COVID certificate self-service online portal has been launched, as well as a freephone number and online recovery certificate request form.

This will allow members of the public to:

  • Request changes to their digital COVID certificate already received,
  • Request to have their cert emailed,
  • Check the status of their digital COVID certificate of vaccination where it has not yet been received, and
  • Continue to request a certificate of recovery.

Work is underway to develop and launch further information channels in the coming weeks to help meet public demand.

Indoor dining

The HSE’s vaccination card is also accepted as valid proof of vaccination for access to indoor dining.

Queries about a COVID-19 test certificate can be directed to private test providers.

If there are questions about a certificate that cannot be answered online, the public should continue to call the helpline on 1800 807 008 (or +353 76 888 5513 when calling from abroad).

Meanwhile, health minister Stephen Donnelly has added Georgia and Malaysia to the list for mandatory hotel quarantine.

The rule will apply to travellers who are not yet fully vaccinated arriving in Ireland, who have been in or transited through these States in the previous 14 days.

Georgia and Malaysia will be included on the booking system for mandatory hotel quarantine starting from tomorrow (4 August).

The minister has also removed Kuwait from the list of designated States.

Those travelling to Ireland from a non-designated State must fill out an electronic Passenger Locator Form before departure.

Valid proof

Travellers must also have appropriate valid proof of vaccination or recovery, or present evidence of a negative RT-PCR result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival into the country.

More information is available on www.gov.ie/travel

The definition of ‘fully vaccinated' is:

A full course of any one of the following vaccines:

  Regarded as fully vaccinated after:

2 doses of Pfizer-BioNtech Vaccine: BNT162b2 (Comirnaty®)

7 days

2 doses of Moderna Vaccine: CX-024414 (Moderna®)

14 days

2 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine:

ChAdOx1-SARS-COV-2 (Vaxzevria® or Covishield)

15 days

1 dose of Johnson & Johnson/Janssen Vaccine: Ad26.COV2-S [recombinant] (Janssen®)

14 days

Those fully vaccinated with one of the above approved vaccines, and with documents of proof, will not have to complete mandatory hotel quarantine on arrival in Ireland.

Any dependants also travelling, including children, will be exempted from the requirement to complete mandatory hotel quarantine.

A full list of designated States is available here.
