Solicitor Philip O’Leary (pictured) has been appointed as chair of the Property Services Appeal Board (PSAB).
The appointment, announced by Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan, will be a for a four-year term.
Philip O’Leary is head of commercial law at Cork-based firm Fitzgerald Legal & Advisory and is currently the chair of the Legal Aid Board, where he has served as a member since 2016.
“He brings a wealth of experience to this role, and this appointment is an important step of the process to allow clients of property services providers have confidence in their property transactions and associated business dealings,” said Minister Flanagan.
The PSAB, set up in 2012, adjudicates on any appeals against certain decisions of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PRSA), whose main statutory function is the licensing of property services providers such as auctioneers and estate agents.
