The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection has temporarily postponed the current PPSNs allocation process, but those who require a PPSN can do so by applying directly to the Department by email.
Non-residents, however, often require PPSNs for purchasing property in the State or the administration of estates.
The Law Society has written to the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Regina Doherty, to ask that the processing of PPSN applications by email or post be extended to exceptional applications and that the applications already submitted be processed as soon as practicable.
