Family Lawyers Association conference will probe Brexit
The Family Lawyers Association (FLA) will hold a ‘Brexit and Family Law – the challenges and the solutions’ conference this Saturday, 22 February, in the Ballymascanlon House Hotel, outside Dundalk, Co Louth.
FLA chair Nuala Jackson says: “This should be an interesting, informative and topical conference.
“There is considerable interest and involvement with family law practitioners in NI also.”
Family lawyer Keith Walsh (pictured) says: “Given the significant number of cases between Ireland and the UK in the area of family law and the exit of the UK from the Brussels II bis system of jurisdiction, the impact of Brexit on family law is likely to be significant.

“This conference is both timely and relevant and will be well supported from both sides of the border.
“It is a must-attend for family lawyers with an international practice.”
The conference fee is €190 for non-members (to include FLA membership) and €80 for members of the FLA.
Student rate
There is a student rate of €50 which also applies for practitioners of fewer than five years’ standing.
This is a day-long conference and includes lunch.
