Fit for life – Cork solicitor backs 24-hour gym venture

Cork solicitor and mediation evangelist Bill Holohan has invested in a new fitness venture.

Together with his brother Gar, Bill is opening 24-hour gym Anytime Fitness in Ballincollig in Cork.

The world’s largest and fastest-growing 24-hour fitness franchise will be opening its fourth club in Ireland in March 2020.

The company behind the project is Holohan Fitness, part of the Aura Holohan Group, which was founded by the Cork brothers who are from nearby Bishopstown and who were educated in Coláiste An Spioraid Naoimh.

The Aura Holohan Group operates over 15 leisure centres and gyms nationwide including Anytime Fitness, Aura Leisure and DKIT Sport.

The group runs three Anytime Fitness clubs in Dublin with another club set to open in Kildare this year.

Squash player

Gar Holohan is a former international squash player and said ‘’We have been operating the Aura Youghal leisure centre for the past 12 years in partnership with Cork County Council, so we are delighted to now be opening our first Anytime Fitness gym in Cork as well.”

The new Anytime Fitness gym is being managed by ex-Cork City striker George O’Callaghan who was recently inducted into Cork City FC's hall of fame.

24 hour opening

Anytime Fitness are the only gyms in Ireland that are fully operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ideal for anyone not working a 9-5 day.

The Anytime Fitness gyms are a part of a worldwide network of over 4,500 gyms across all seven continents servicing upwards of four million members.
