The tenth annual national Moot Court competition will take place on Saturday 16 November at the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin 7.
A total of 33 law student teams will take part, with entrants from 12 universities across Ireland, the North and Britain, as well as first-time competitors from Cambridge and Bristol universities.
Hosted by DCU and sponsored by A&L Goodbody, this is Ireland's largest mooting competition. The final will be chaired by Mr Justice John MacMenamin of the Supreme Court (DCU's Judge-in-Residence).
This year's problem revolves around the tort of nervous shock. Students are required to prepare written submissions for the plaintiff/appellant, and written submissions for the defendant/respondent. There are prizes for the winning team, best speaker and best memorial.
