Matheson Cork office in expansion mode

Matheson’s Cork office is to move to a larger city-centre location and has made new hires.

Tech law and employment specialist Deirdre Crowley and her team have joined the Matheson Cork office from Crowley Solicitors.

The data privacy and employment law specialist has joined the firm’s Cork office as partner.

She brings her entire team with her, taking the total number of Matheson Cork-based employees to 13.

The appointment of Deirdre and her team comes one year on from the opening of the Matheson Cork office.

Matheson was the first of the large Dublin-based law firms to establish a Munster office, in response to the increasing demand for legal services from multinational and domestic clients located in the region.

These clients span across the information and communications technology, life sciences, med-tech, financial services and cyber security industries.

The move from City Gate, Mahon, to a larger city-centre location will happen in early 2020.

Potential

Managing partner Michael Jackson said he sees significant potential in the region.

Cork is set to become the fastest-growing city in the State over the next 20 years, and is earmarked for growth under the Government of Ireland 2040 plan.
