LRC legal research role now open for applications

The Law Reform Commission (LRC) has invited applications for a legal researcher vacancy.

The job will be on a temporary, full-time, three-year contract basis.

The legal researcher will assist in preparing issues papers and reports for publication, and provide an efficient high-quality legal research service.

Current LRC projects include:

  • Contempt of court and other offences and torts involving the administration of justice,
  • Knowledge and belief concerning consent in the law of rape,
  • Suspended sentences,
  • Compulsory acquisition of land,
  • Domestic implementation of international obligations,
  • Accessibility, consolidation and online publication of legislation.

The LRC is a statutory body that keeps the law under independent, objective and expert review, and makes recommendations for reform.
