“Lawyers Against Homelessness” has an upcoming CPD event on 27 June.

The Chief Justice will speak at the Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin 7 and the event will host a total of ten speakers giving topical updates on various points of law.

“Lawyers Against Homelessness” is a solicitor-barrister collaborative charity with 100% of all proceeds going directly to the work for the homeless at the Bow Street Capuchin Centre.

Impressive

Thus far, the body has hosted five events, raising an impressive €110,000, all going directly to Brother Kevin at the Capuchin Centre.

Attendance yields four CPD points to solicitor and barrister attendees and the small fee goes directly to Brother Kevin.

As well as the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Bernard Barton will be speaking along with solicitors from McCann Fitzgerald, Mason Hayes & Curran, Compton, and Arthur Cox.

Barristers attending include Richard Kean, Conor Bowman, Peter Bland, Patrick Silke, Brenda Power (pictured) and David Hegarty from the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

Litigation updates

Topics of law to be covered include the Supreme Court, commercial law, personal injury litigation updates, defamation and corporate enforcement.

Suggested payment of €100 can be paid by cash or cheque upon arrival.

Cheques payable in advance should be made out to The Capuchin Day Centre and sent to Kate Reeves, c/o 5 Inns Court, Winetavern Street, Dublin 8.

The event takes place on 27 June from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. The Capuchin Centre at Bow Street hosts the event and very generously puts on a big spread for the coffee break.
