The Courts Service is in the process of choosing a successor to chief executive Brendan Ryan who is due to bow out in four months.
Cork native Ryan has led the Courts Service for the past ten years, and prior to that held a variety of roles in the organisation, including that of director of infrastructure.
He has successfully implemented a massive building programme over the past 20 years, including the landmark Criminal Courts of Justice building (pictured) in Parkgate Street, Dublin 7.
The building programme has delivered 60 major court buildings countrywide – both refurbishments and new developments.
