This year’s trainee moot court competition reached a thrilling conclusion at Blackhall Place on Monday evening.
Respondents Jessica Copley (O’Riordan Solicitors) and Davy Lalor (McCann FitzGerald) emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle.
Distinguished adjudicators included Mr Justice Michael Peart (Court of Appeal), Mr Justice Donald Binchy (High Court), Mr Justice Michael Twomey (High Court), Ken Murphy (Law Society Director General), and TP Kennedy (director of education).
Mairead Conway (Michael J Staines & Co) and Matthew Gregg (McCann FitzGerald) fought tenaciously for the appellant.
However, it was the respondents’ case that ultimately earned winners Jessica Copley and Davy Lalor this year’s coveted title. Davy Lalor was also named best overall advocate.
The judges commended both teams on the exceptionally high standard of both preparation and presentation.
