Princeton professor to speak on constitutions at UCD

An eminent Princeton history professor will deliver the UCD Arts and Humanities Annual Lecture this year.

'Inscribing a Modern World: Constitutions Across Histories and Literatures' is the topic for the 1 November talk at the Newman Building by Linda Colley, Professor of History at Princeton University.

At a time when the Irish Constitution is undergoing momentous change, Professor Colley will reflect on the story of Ireland's Constitution, from its enactment to the present day.

She will also trace the histories, dynamics, cultures and values underpinned by constitutions around the world.

Fresh take

Professor Colley will offer a fresh take on what written constitutions tell us about globally connected societies.

The annual secture starts at 6.30pm in Theatre Q of the Newman Building. Refreshments will be served afterwards and booking is essential.
