There's an app for that...

App tackles dawn raid fears

Any business fearing a dawn raid on suspicion of white-collar crime can now get help in the shape of legal tech.

Matheson’s newly-launched ‘Dawn Raid’ app is a tool for crisis management and training.

It gives step-by-step guidance for how to behave during a raid, and awareness training of raid protocol ahead of time.

There will also be push-button access to Matheson lawyers embedded in the tool, the firm promises.

Many Irish and EU regulators can now forcibly enter a business or home, demand information and seize records.

Search powers

Customisation to client needs is also available through the app, for instance on search powers in particular legal areas such as competition, data privacy or life sciences.

Matheson partner Kate McKenna says “We have responded to our clients’ demand for easy-to-access guidance and, in particular, bespoke mobile apps to enhance preparedness for, and management of, a dawn raid.”
